Meera Syal returns as family liaison officer Jackie Hartwell.

Her job, as ever, is to comfort and support the families of victims while keeping a watchful eye on their reactions and movements. You never know when the murderer might be close to home.

Jackie is assigned to a woman viciously assaulted in her own home.

It soon becomes clear the suspect is a serial offender who will strike again...
