Brian and Jennifer are shocked to hear about Noluthando’s overdose. They ask Kate about it and she confirms that it’s true. Brian and Jennifer march round to Lower Loxley to confront Elizabeth. Elizabeth defends Freddie – Noluthando ignored his advice and took the whole pill. Elizabeth had no idea that Freddie was dealing, but Brian thinks that’s just as bad as letting it happen. Elizabeth calls them hypocrites. She remembers what Kate used to get up to. She throws them out of Lower Loxley.

Alistair informs Jim that he’ll probably have to stay at least until Christmas. The buyout of his practice will take longer than anticipated. Jim tactfully hides his delight. He promises Alistair that he can stay for as long as he wants.

Elizabeth accuses Josh of spreading gossip about Freddie. When David defends Josh she collapses in tears. She apologises –she knows she can’t really blame Josh. She’s so worried about Freddie, and none of the solicitors she’s spoken to have been any help. With a fortnight to go to the appeal deadline, she’s trying no-win-no-fee firms. David realises he won’t be able to help her see sense, and promises to help out.
