There is also high-quality cycling from the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome where Katie Archibald, one of Scotland's standout stars at April's Commonwealth Games, is attempting to defend her European title in the women's omnium.

Archibald - an Olympic team pursuit champion at Rio 2016 - arrived in Glasgow with ten European gold medals to her name so will be expected to shine on home soil.

However, with double Olympic champion Laura Kenny on the comeback trail after taking time off to have her first child, Archibald might not have it all her own way in Glasgow.
