The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the charity that saves lives at sea. Operating 30 Lifeboat Stations across Wales, last year volunteer lifeboat crews launched 1,082 times across Wales, offering assistance to 1,169 people. It's the Year of the Sea and Rachael Garside visits Porthdinllaen Lifeboat Station which is situated near Morfa Nefyn on the north coast of the Lleyn Penninsula in Gwynedd. We find out how to stay safe with the the RNLI's Respect the Water 'float' advice. We meet the fisherman who lived to tell the tale of a heroic rescue, in difficult conditions, from RNLI Penarth. But how it's not all plain sailing as we meet the campaigners trying to stop the RNLI from downgrading a lifeboat station in Ceredigion.
