Spike Milligan's madcap ventures in the mid-1960s to preserve the Elfin Oak in London's Kensington Gardens whilst also performing in the West End run of his play, The Bedsitting Room.

When theatre censors get in the way of Spike saving the elves, events threaten to spiral out of control.
