Brian faces the consequences, and Bert has some wise words.
Rex tells Toby that he's giving up the geese business - the figures just don't add up, which makes things difficult for Toby. Having recently got an extension on Hollowtree he was hoping to split the rent as before with Rex, but now it looks like he'll have to find another way to get the money together.
It's not just the money that's getting Toby down though, Bert's noticed he's been moping around for the past two days. When pushed Toby admits that going to the 12 week scan was overwhelming. He admits he doesn't feel grown up enough to be a dad, but Bert tells him that's exactly what he felt all those years ago when Freda told him she was expecting, it's completely normal.
At Home Farm things are tense. Adam reveals to Brian and Jennifer that he called the insurers to find out how much the clean-up contractors is costing, it's thousands of pounds a week, and worse still if the chemicals were dumped on the land during Brian's tenure as landowner then they won't honour the claim. Brian is furious; Adam should never have gone behind his back like this he's got everything under control. Adam doesn't think so though, he tells them that the insurers gave him the impression that they wouldn't be paying out. Jennifer is shocked and needs to lie down whilst Brian continues his protestation that all will be well.
Later, Brian tells Jennifer that he was approached by some chap about dumping some harmless rubbish on his land. But he swears he didn't know it was dangerous. As Jennifer points out, in the eyes of the law ignorance is not the same as innocence. Brian admits that his lawyer has warned him that if he's found guilty he could go to prison.
