A Labour MP says most people would be prepared to pay more to fund the NHS

Labour MP Chuka Umunna says 'we are going to have to contribute more if we want the NHS to continue doing - what we expect it to.' This comes after countless reports of cancelled operations, increased waiting times and horror stories from our A&E departments.

Also, a Conservative MP has apologised for saying benefit claimants should stop having kids if they can't afford them and suggested they should have vasectomies. Labour attacked him over the "repulsive comments". Apologising, he said he had matured since writing the now-deleted remarks.
