At Brookfield Ruth reminds David that he needs to speak to Toby. She stresses that this isn't about David's personal feelings. He needs to be civil with Toby for the sake of their grandchild.

David and Toby agree that they should respect Pip's wishes. If she wants to continue without Toby's involvement then that's what will happen. But Toby still manages to say the wrong thing, and David accuses him of taking no responsibility for his actions. When Toby defends himself - saying that nobody planned this - David hits the roof. As far as he's concerned all Toby ever does is drift along without a plan. The lease on Hollowtree expires at the end of the month. As far as David's concerned there's no reason for Toby to stay at Brookfield any longer.

Lexi is keen to ask Adam and Ian some questions about surrogacy, and joins them at Honeysuckle cottage. What she really wants is to spend time in Bulgaria with her girls. Adam and Ian hadn't pictured their surrogate living abroad, but won't rule anything out. Lexi asks for more time to consider. Roy's upset to discover that she's seriously considering becoming their surrogate. He has no idea what Lexi carrying someone else's child might do to their relationship. He can't bear the thought of losing her.
