Lilian visits Christine. She's been worrying that Christine only felt confident investing in Melling because of her connection with Matt. Lilian tries to make amends with a cheque for £50,000. But Christine blames herself entirely - she won't take money from anyone.

Elizabeth's unimpressed to hear that Freddie plans to go abroad with mates for his 18th. He complains that she can't stop him, but his passport has been in the safe since the Isle of Wight incident. At college, Freddie's surprised to discover that Noluthando has befriended the coolest kids in the year by selling Magic Mushrooms. They prepare a risotto for dinner, and Noluthando decides to add some mushrooms - for Lily's benefit. When Elizabeth arrives unexpectedly they have to think fast. Noluthando improvises a story about adding too much salt, and bins the risotto before Elizabeth can try too much.

Lilian receives a call from Elizabeth, who's keen to discuss her unexpected wedding choices. Lilian dissuades her from dropping into the Dower House, hiding the fact that she's staying at The Bull. Adam visits, recalling the time he spent there when Ian kicked him out. He hopes that Lilian and Justin's relationship will also recover. Adam's relieved that the police have ruled him out of their investigation into Matt's accident.
