We encourage people to buy local food produce and cut down food miles but what about flowers? The National Farmers Union has called for the labelling of cut flowers - to show where they were grown. Currently just 12 per cent of the flowers sold in the UK are grown here. But following years of the multi-billion pound flower market being dominated by Dutch imports, small-scale British growers are starting to gain ground with the public's growing interest in seasonal and local flowers. Rachael Garside is at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and takes a look at the cut flower in industry in Wales. She meets an artisan flower grower andĀ finds out how lavender grows here in Wales D
