Kenton receives an ultimatum, and can Matt keep a secret?

David's not sure the proposed housing development at Bridge Farm is right for Ambridge. Helen's worried he thinks they've sold out, though David protests otherwise. David's after another free meal at The Bull, much to Kenton's consternation. David assures him he'd far rather have his money back. Kenton promises to set up a regular re-payment, but then discovers Jolene's already done it. David's pleased. Kenton asserts this means an end to the free meals.

Justin's impressed with builder Philip Moss; he remarks to Lilian he might use him to fit out the new builds. Justin wants to discuss Lilian's birthday with her wider family. Lilian doesn't think it's a good idea, and as she spots Matt with a woman out of the corner of her eye, her mood darkens. Matt mentions Lilian's bruise, and feigns ignorance of her riding accident last week. Lilian reveals she hasn't told the whole truth of the incident to Justin.

When Justin gets short shrift from Helen at Bridge Farm, he assumes Lilian's mood is to do with the awkwardness with her family. Lilian assures him that's nonsense. This will all soon blow over and everything will be fine.
