Safety and shelter
In hidden locations in Ethiopia, Womankind Worldwide supports women-only shelters to care for girls like Mekedes (whose story you hear in the Radio 4 Appeal).
New beginnings
Mekedes (L) was nursed back to health at the shelter after she was abused by her brother for years. She now runs a salon at the shelter, training other girls in hairdressing skills.
More than a roof
Eyerusalem Engedasew is a House Mother at the women’s shelter where Mekedes stayed.
