Alistair deals with an emergency, and Tom returns revitalised.

A collapsed roof at the Hunt kennels has caused injuries to some hounds. As Alistair patches them up, Shula comments that sorting this is one of her first duties, and she's not even officially a joint master yet. They discuss Anisha. Alistair fears the surgery open day won't go ahead if she's not back.

Tom's back from his Brazil trip in good spirits. He's gone off his initial scholarship idea of baby food. There are too many big organic brands out there already. After Pat's caught him up on all the village news, Tom declares his new plan is to research fermented foods. He's vows to put a hundred per cent into Bridge Farm from now on.

Brusque Justin wants Brian to get the Borchester Land board on side with the Ramsbury broiler unit purchase. Brian's confident he can guide it through. Justin admits he can't get Lilian out of his head. He can't make sense of her refusal to marry him. Uncomfortable Brian suggests it might be because Lilian's been hurt in the past - Matt Crawford is mentioned. Justin acknowledges he may have been too impulsive. The air needs clearing, but he doesn't want to risk another rebuttal. Brian thinks that's a risk Justin will have to take.
