Being 'shot down' at a dance. Being afraid at the top of the Empire State Building. Sean's only been to one barbecue (and he stayed inside).

When you asked a girl if you could leave her home after the dance, you didn't want her to shake her head if the answer was 'no'. You didn't want your friends to know you'd been 'shot down'. A postcard arrives of the Empire State Building. When Sean went there, he stood with his back to the wall. Other listeners did the same. Sean has only been at one barbecue.
