Britain on the Fiddle follows fraud investigators as they build cases against those they believe are cheating the system. Cases range from an unrepentant cigarette smuggler to a fraudster who has so many identities investigators aren't sure who they have under arrest.

The case against a multiple-identity fraudster is in danger of collapsing as she tries every trick in the book to avoid her day in court. In Durham, an ex-serviceman who was injured in the line of duty tries to defend his honour, as his disability claim is investigated. And in Stoke-on-Trent, an investigator takes on his biggest case yet - a former property developer who is now milking the benefits system by using a second identity.
