Addaction
Addaction is one of the UK’s leading drug, alcohol and mental health treatment charities. For 50 years, we’ve been helping people to make positive change to their behaviour. Whether that’s by addressing a problem with alcohol, drugs, or mental health and wellbeing – our compassionate and dedicated workers help people make lasting changes to their lives in ways they never thought possible.
The system isn’t working for everyone

In our 50 years, we’ve learnt that people can struggle to get access to all the support they need. Right now there are over a million dependent drinkers in the UK not getting the right support they need, struggling alone with addiction. That needs to change.
Finding ways for people to thrive

Addaction’s work takes in community support, education, help for those in the criminal justice system, mental health services, family support, employment and much, much more. And because our services across all those areas are joined up, even those with the most complex problems can find the support they need without fear of falling through the cracks.
50 years championing recovery

As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary this year, we hope the BBC Radio 4 Appeal will raise valuable funds to help us reach and support even more people struggling due to addiction or mental health problems, and give them the chance of a fresh start. We’ve been championing recovery for 50 years and we know what works.
