Sisters Wendy and Nicola had always wanted to find out more about their mysterious maternal grandmother and hired a genealogist to explore their family history. The research revealed that Wendy and Nicola's grandmother was a music hall star in the 1920s - and it found a cousin they never knew existed, Helen. Nicola meets Helen for the first time, and the three of them all head to Covent Garden to discover more about their family's fascinating musical heritage.

Allan Skeggs did his genealogical detective work himself - and years of searching finally led him to his half-brother David. The two brothers meet up to help David discover more about their shared father. David then takes Allan to the children's home where he grew up, and they also visit his favourite pie and mash shop in the East End.
