Being in hospital is hard – with little to do and few opportunities for a sense of normality or relief, a long stay can take its toll. MediCinema enables people to feel better with film by giving them a night out at the movies. We do this by building, installing and running state-of-the-art cinemas in hospitals throughout the UK.

Volunteers make screenings possible
We simply could not run our screenings without our amazing volunteers, like Stuart. Before every screening they collect patients from the wards, pushing drips, wheelchairs and beds, and chat to them to put them at ease.
Syeda
A life-changing infection put Syeda, (whose story you hear in the appeal), in hospital for six and a half months. She said MediCinema played a big part in her recovery – having something to look forward to and a community to share her journey with enabled her to feel like herself again.
