Thriller set during the Victorian era. Reid and Jackson plan to smoke serial killer Nathaniel Dove, brother of assistant commissioner Augustus Dove, out of hiding.
Reid and Jackson have a morbid plan to smoke serial killer Nathaniel Dove, brother of assistant commissioner Augustus Dove, out of hiding. But Shine is on their tail and will stop at nothing to track them down, including the brutal intimidation of whoever he thinks might be protecting them.
Reid also has other problems, after the papers portray him as a murderous vigilante his daughter's opinion of him is shattered.
Meanwhile, Long Susan enlists the help of trusted friends to help get her son back, but not without grave risk to their safety.
