Row continues over funding for Troubles legacy inquests

The Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, has called on the British government to "release funding for legacy inquests, including the Ballymurphy massacre cases". This came on the same day relatives from the Ballymurphy Families walked out of a meeting with the Secretary of State, James Brokenshire. They had urged him to release funds for inquests into the shootings.

More calls from Martin McGuinness for the government to fund legacy inquests into Troubles deaths. It comes as relatives from the Ballymurphy Families Campaign walk out of a meeting with the Secretary of State.

Should motorists who drive too close to cyclists be charged with careless driving?

Westmidlands Police in England have become the first force in the UK to crack down on drivers who don't leave enough room when overtaking cyclists. Road safety rules stipulate motorists should give cyclists at least the same space as their vehicles when overtaking - a minimum of 1.5 metres. Anyone not doing so runs the risk of being prosecuted.

Will enforcement of licensing law spell the end of the traditional school formal?

Could the traditional school formal in hotels be at an end? Northern Ireland Hotels Federation has issued guidance to its members "that it is illegal for hotels to stage formal events that do not end by 9.30 pm and that persons under the age of 18 should not be at any social/family/entertainment event within the licensed area of an hotel after 9.00pm if no food is being served or 9.,30 if a meal forms part of the event."
