2016 Final: Inveraray v Kinlochshiel

The 2016 final pits Inveraray, with a long history of success in the MacAulay Cup, against Kinlochshiel, who have never reached this stage of a major senior tournament before. 'Shiel', from Balmacara near Kyle of Lochalsh, beat the Camanachd Cup holders Lovat 3-0 in their semi-final. Inveraray played in five consecutive finals in the last decade, but were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Newtonmore in last year's decider at Mossfield before being relegated from the Premier Division. They caused a major upset by overcoming Kyles Athletic 3-2 in the semi-final, with captain Allan MacDonald scoring a hat-trick prior to being sent off.
