Tom Redmond presents a live afternoon concert from the BBC Philharmonic and conductor Michael Seal as part of Afternoon on 3's British music season - opening and closing with music Elgar originally composed as a young boy for a play written with his brothers and sisters.

The orchestra are joined by BBC New Generation Artist Alec Frank-Gemmill for Malcolm Arnold's First Horn Concerto, followed by John Foulds' ecstatic symphonic poem April - England
