Lilian is conflicted, and Alice gives Pip food for thought.

Lilian questions Justin about considering Rob for the position of Estate Manager. Justin makes it clear that he knows best when it comes to making decisions about his businesses and Lilian apologises. Later, they have supper together and Justin brings champagne to make up for their tiff. He acknowledges that Rob's departure from BL had been a little mysterious and says he will grill Rob on what exactly happened at Berrow Farm between him and Charlie.

Alice is full of facts about the agricultural science products her company is marketing but Pip isn't really listening and she keeps glancing over Alice's shoulder. With prompting, Pip comes clean to Alice about the Toby situation. Hearing about their argument, Alice thinks Toby is jealous. She remarks that Pip has somehow managed to tame a womanizer!

George is still obsessed with Danny the Champion of the World. Clarrie warns Eddie and Joe against talking to George about poaching like it isn't a crime. Joe puffs on his pipe and recounts his younger days to Clarrie. Eddie joins them and he and Joe point out the rights of the common man. Clarrie reminds them it's the 21st Century and poaching is stealing. Eddie changes the subject to Ed getting a new ram. But Joe isn't interested, he can only think about his right to live and die on the land he has farmed for so long.
