New information is brought to Anna's attention, and Richard gives his advice.

Lynda relays to Shula the proceedings of Scruff's cremation and expresses her surprise that, as Scruff's previous owners, Shula and Alistair didn't show any interest in being there. Lynda has an urn with Scruff's ashes in her handbag; she's yet to decide where to scatter them. Later, Lynda baffles Anna by carrying the urn around St Stephen's churchyard.

Alistair sees to one of Tom's pigs and asks him about his Nuffield Scholarship application. Tom says the shortlist is currently being drawn up. Then, Tom gets a call from Anna. She wants to know if there is anything he can tell her about Jess and Rob. Tom replies that Rob kept his past very private.

Over a cup of tea, Shula thanks Richard for her birthday present. She also tells him that she can't stop thinking about the hunt sab incident and if what she knows could help Helen. Richard says it could be important but she should get some legal advice first. Alistair arrives home and he and Shula argue over whether Shula should admit she lied to the police. Alistair points out Rob rescued them from the flood. Shula finds Anna and tells all. Anna explains that her evidence is inadmissible and she wouldn't be seen as a reliable witness so she can't be of any help to Helen's case.
