Kat Ward was the first victim to speak out about sexual abuse inflicted by Jimmy Savile. Her testimony was the catalyst for uncovering decades of abuse and cover-ups. Her book, Victim Zero, describes the impact the abuse had on her life and her experience of being taken to court for libel by entertainer Freddie Starr. She tells Jenni why she spoke up.
We take you on a tour of Her Majesty the Queen's wardrobe, in celebration of the Royal Collection's 90th birthday exhibition 'Fashioning a Reign'. Today Emma Barnett discusses Princess Elizabeth's wedding dress with the Arts critic Shahidha Bari, and Senior Curator at the Royal Collection, Caroline de Guitaut.
What is it like to be told you only have months to live? Film-maker Sue Bourne is making a BBC documentary about people who have a terminal illness. The film, she says, is not about death or dying. It is about life and living. She talks to Jenni.
Internationally renowned composer Lera Auerbach is bringing a new choral-orchestral work to the BBC Proms. It is called 'The Infant Minstrel and His Peculiar Menagerie'. It will premiere at Prom 22 on July 31st and is dedicated to the memory of Jo Cox with whom Auerbach was a member of the Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum.
The Sinking World is the first novel in the Storm Sisters series, an adventure set in the 1700s about five female teenage pirates. After the tragic events of 'The Day of Destruction,' when the girls were intended to die alongside their families, Charlie, Sadie, Liu, Raquel and Ingela find themselves alone on the high seas.
