Jetsunma

Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo decided to go to India at the age of 20 to pursue her spiritual path. Later she became one of the first Westerners to be ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist nun, and spent 12 years in retreat in a cave, 3 of which were completely alone. In 2000 she founded a nunnery, and continues to promote female practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism worldwide.
