Robert spoils Lynda, and Fallon is recognised for her success.

At Ambridge Hall Robert treats Lynda with breakfast in bed for her birthday. Meanwhile, Eddie waters down the beds to which he added mushroom compost. It seems to be keeping Lynda's allergic reaction at bay. Robert and Lynda visit the Jumble Trail where Lynda is initially reserved towards Fallon, who organised the event. A fee from each stallholder is going to the village hall fund which will complete the amount needed for the stage's curtains.

Jennifer waits with Pat at Bridge Farm for Peggy and Tony to return from visiting Helen. She tries to convince Pat to come to their anniversary party on Friday but Pat's not sure she's up to it. Peggy enters and tells Pat and Jennifer she thinks Helen is finding it difficult to bond with her new baby. She adds that while it's a delicate situation they must share the photos of Jack with Rob and Ursula.

After lunch with Brian at Grey Gables to celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary, Jennifer meets Robert and Lynda at the Jumble Trail. Lynda asks her about the survey that Borsetshire Wildlife Trust is doing in the Millennium Wood. Jennifer explains Brian commissioned it because he's concerned about the impact of the amount of people visiting the wood to see the elvish dwellings. Fallon is touched when Lynda does go on to compliment her for getting the event together. Robert kisses his wife and tells her she is an inspiration.
