Ban smartphones for under 16s? Emma Woolf and Fionola Meredith discuss

A former Downing Street advisor has called for a ban on 16 year olds having smartphones or tablets. Steve Hilton is a former director of strategy for David Cameron.

We need to create a social norm that children should never have access to the internet without supervision. Just as we've banned smoking or drinking for under-16s because we think those things are bad for them, we should ban smartphones and tablets for children, too".
