MedEquip4Kids

MedEquip4Kids improves children’s healthcare in the UK by funding equipment not available from limited NHS resources. This year, the charity is appealing especially for resources to improve children’s mental health. MedEquip4Kids is providing Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) nationwide with materials to support the one in ten children and young people with a mental health condition. MedEquip4Kids has provided 90 CAMHS teams across the UK with books, games and toys. These specialist materials help children like Ben, who features in the appeal, to understand and communicate their feelings and to manage their conditions. Wigan CAMHS say:

‘The resources supplied by MedEquip4Kids are fantastic as it is exactly what we requested to meet the needs of our team.’

David, who is thought to have an autism spectrum disorder, attends CAMHS at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. David’s sessions include staff observing how he plays. His mum says he loves the toys there. MedEquip4Kids has provided some of the books and games.
