We ask whether police are given the support they need - after an investigation by this programme finds a big increase in police on long term sick leave, in part, due to stress.
An investigation by this programme has found the number of police taking long term sick leave has gone up by a third over the past 5 years. The Police Federation says this is down to a 'perfect storm' of budget cuts, shrinking staff numbers and officers having to deal with 'highly stressful' and 'horrific' situations. So, are our emergency services given the support they deserve?
