Turkey's biggest-selling newspaper Zaman was forcibly taken over by the government this month and journalists have been locked up for insulting the nation or aiding terrorists. All this in a nation beset with diplomatic, security and humanitarian challenges.

Stephen Sackur talks to Sevgi Akarcesme, the editor of the English version of Zaman, who fled Turkey shortly after the state takeover. How close is Turkey to authoritarian rule?
