provides financial, medical and development aid to Gurkha veterans, their
families and communities. We estimate that we’ll spend around £22 million over
the next five years as we help communities recover from the devastating Nepal earthquakes.

Gurkha veteran Baldhan
Ghale and his wife Budyani stand among the ruins of their home in Barpak, at
the epicentre of the initial earthquake.

Almost all of the houses
in Barpak were destroyed, including that of 93-year-old WW2 veteran
Sankhabahadur Ghale and his wife Bilmaya.

97-year-old Shersing
Gurung was almost killed by his collapsing house. We found him living in a
cattle shed, in desperate need of our help.
