Dame Mary Peters

Dame Mary Peters is one of Northern Ireland’s sporting legends. Amongst other athletic achievements, she won a gold medal in the pentathlon at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. An ambassador for Belfast, she leads the Mary Peters Trust, a charity which raises money to fund promising young athletes from Northern Ireland. Mary talks to Clare about why it’s important to find and support the next generation of sports’ heroes.
