Since its launch in 2008, the night race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit has generated one of the most dramatic and atmospheric contests in the calendar, taking place against a backdrop of old buildings and modern skyscrapers. Qualifying for last year's race around the 3.1-mile circuit was no different as Lewis Hamilton edged out Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg by a mere 0.007 seconds to take pole position.
