On this episode of A Kist o Wurds
Liam
Logan meets historians from America and from here at a gathering commemorating
‘Old Hickory’, General Andrew Jackson, the victor of the Battle of New Orleans,
two hundred years ago. Jackson’s parents came from east Antrim, and Liam visits
the cottage near Carrickfergus named for the seventh president of the United
States. The Low Country Lad, Darren Gibson, has some thoughts on getting the
weans kitted out for a new school year, and in north Antrim Alex Blair tells
Liam about a talk he’s giving on the historic ways Dervock and Bushmills are
alike.
