Jonathan Edwards presents live coverage of the 15th World Championships in athletics from Beijing, China.

British heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill missed the 2008 Olympics Games in the Chinese capital because of injury but she won gold four years later and is competing in her first major championship since becoming a mother. Ennis-Hill and rising star Katarina Johnson-Thompson will want to get off to a flyer in this morning's two events - the 100m hurdles and high jump.

The first gold medal of the 2015 World Championships will be awarded in the men's marathon.
