Hannah Lowe traces her father's childhood with his own cruel father and his escape to Liverpool and London in the late 1940s.

Poet Hannah Lowe - who grew up in 1980s Essex with a half-Chinese, half-black father - recreates his childhood in Jamaica and young adult years in the decades before he met her mother.
