Annie Nightingale’s new compilation, Masterpiece, is a celebration of 50 years in the music business and is out 17 July on Ministry of Sound.

Sadia Azmat is a stand-up comedian who deals with race and religion, and growing up in London as a young British Muslim. Her most recent show ‘I am not Malala’ looks at Malala Yousafzai’s reception by Western media. She recently performed at the BBC Big Comedy Night in Birmingham as part of a special series marking Ramadan. Sadia joins Jane to talk about her comedy, and the response she’s had since bringing her experiences to stand-up.

Four years ago author Jenny Valentine was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went with her husband to break the news to her parents - and learnt that her father had been diagnosed with cancer too, and his was terminal. Jenny's father died in 2012. This month, Jenny published her latest novel "Fire Colour One," including a character, Ernest, loosely based on her dad. Jenny joins the programme to talk about how a family copes when two members are ill at the same time, why someone dying is not an obstacle to getting to know them, and how she thinks the topic of death should be tackled in young adult fiction.
