Edi Stark hears from people who live with someone affected by mental health issues. Clare talks about how she and her family were affected when her son committed murder.

Schizophrenia affects about one in a 100 people each year; two thirds of those diagnosed will go on to have further episodes throughout their lives. Sadly, it's a condition that sets alarm bells ringing- the very word schizophrenia is a stigma. Perhaps that's partly down to how it's been reported in the media. So what must it be like then to be the son or daughter of someone who suffers from this condition?
Frances's mum has suffered from Paranoid Schizophrenia all her life. Her behaviour and personality can alter dramatically and can
be very challenging and upsetting deal with. Edi Stark hears the 'Ripple Effect' of this condition on Frances from childhood to adulthood.
