Gillian Sharpe visits Perth Race Course to study the business of horse racing, which is estimated to be worth over 260 million pounds.

This week Business Scotland goes to the races. Scotland has five race courses and throughout 2015 more than a hundred race meetings are scheduled across the flat and jump. The most recent economic impact study carried out for Scottish Racing - which does marketing and promotion for the courses - estimated the total direct and indirect spending by racegoers was worth some £67.5m, while the total impact was valued at over £260m. Gillian Sharpe went to Perth Race Course to study the form.
