Zeinab Badawi speaks to the Russian opposition figure Vladimir Ashurkov. He was accused of embezzlement of electoral funds by the Russian authorities, a charge he says is politically motivated. He has now been granted asylum in the UK.

So what of his boss back in Moscow, the vocal anti-Putin critic Alexei Navalny and other opposition figures? Are they a credible alternative to president Putin?
