Familiar face Selina Scott talks about the North Yorkshire town of Malton's connections with Charles Dicken's "A Christmas Carol." Selina's grandfather worked for the local paper "The Malton Messenger" and passed on his passion for this festive classic.

Christmas Truce
It’s the second instalment of our journey to Ypres in Belgium to commemorate 100 years since the historic Christmas Truce during World War 1. Last week we met two families – one German and one English – who are travelling west and east across Europe to meet each other. They’re the descendants of Private William Tapp, and Lieutenant Kurt Zehmisch, who both kept diaries as the Christmas Truce unfolded at this very spot near Ypres in Belgium.

Hip Hop Carol
Filmed on location at Carlisle Cathedral. Featuring a hip hop version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, which is the brainchild of Andy Dykes and Matthew Firth from the chaplaincy of the University of Cumbria. They hope their video will go viral! www.vimeo.com/beatconvention/grymg

Love Beyond
Filmed at the Backstage Centre in Purfleet, Essex. Interviews are with co-composers Richard Haley and Tabitha Webb and cast members Dave Willetts and Holly-Anna Lloyd. Clips are used courtesy of Love Beyond, The Musical.

James Martin
Celebrity chef James Martin serves up his interpretation of the Dickensian tipple, "smoking Bishop", which was enjoyed by the redeemed Scrooge in A Christmas Carol.
