The books under discussion include the true story of a Welsh woman sworn to a lifeline of secrecy for her part in code-breaking at Bletchley Park, a novel about a high court judge facing a range of moral dilemmas and also the final instalment of a trilogy which tells the story of a small town in America from the point of view of a fiercely independent outsider who meets the town’s elderly preacher and learns slowly what it is to love and to trust.
