Unseen

Unseen’s vision is to work towards a world without slavery.
Unseen helps women survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery by providing 24-hour safe accommodation where they can come to terms with their horrific ordeals and rebuild their lives with the help of a specialist staff team. Women like Dorina who was promised a job, a house and a better life in the UK, but on arrival things were very different. Dorina was sold for sex, was beaten and moved between different locations. After two months she managed to escape and was brought by the police to Unseen’s safe-house.
The team at Unseen provides women like Dorina with the expert help they need including access to medical and sexual healthcare, legal advice, support with police investigations and one-to-one sessions with a dedicated worker.
Crucially, Unseen also helps women re-establish their lives back in society through a Resettlement Programme, so they can continue their recovery, stay free from exploitation and create a better future for themselves and their families.
A safe place

Unseen provides a safe, welcoming environment where women can create positive memories. In-house activities include therapeutic sessions, self-esteem courses, learning about safe relationships, nutrition, budgeting and English lessons, which all contribute to the journey of recovery and empower them for the future.
A little goes a long way

Most women arrive with at Unseen with nothing. As little as £25 pays for a basic clothing package – which not only provides practical items but helps women regain their dignity.
New Children’s Project

As well as a project to support men, Unseen is now working on a new children’s project.
Statistics show that every day at least one child is discovered trafficked in the UK. Children are forced to work, beg or are used for sex, and there is currently no dedicated service to help them recover. Unseen is working to open a highly specialist care and accommodation service so that these vulnerable children can regain their freedom and their childhood. It will be the first of its kind in the UK.
