This week Adam Walton is in conversation with the ultrasound imaging pioneer Professor Peter Wells. He's just been awarded one of the Royal Academy of Engineering’s highest accolades, the Sir Frank Whittle medal, for his outstanding achievements in medical engineering. Peter has worked in ultrasound over six decades, from the late 50s, when its potential was just being realised, to the current day seeking further breakthroughs in ultrasonic breast screening.
