A Kist o Wurds is back

For the first Kist in a new series, Liam Logan drops in on the Donegal Diaspora Conference where Alison Cathcart has some new insights on the settlers who arrived in Ulster with James Hamilton in the 1600s, and Brian Lambkin recalls the Mellon family’s journey from Scotland to America by way of Co Tyrone. In another link with America, Liam goes to Aghadowey, for a special celebration and a plaque to commemorate the Rev James McGregor, who led the Great Migration from Ulster to the New World in 1718. In 2014, in east Antrim, this year’s Broadisland Gathering is all set to go, and Valerie Beattie tells Liam what’s lined up for the big Ulster Scots day out.
