Penny Gore presents music from the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Bruch: Violin Concerto No 3. Beethoven: Piano Concerto No 1. Vaughan Williams: Symphony No 1 (A Sea symphony).
Looking ahead to the start of the BBC Proms on Friday, Penny Gore presents a week of programmes showcasing two of our performing groups - the BBC Scottish & BBC Symphony Orchestras - in music showing the breadth of their expertise. Today the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra performs two concertos with exciting young soloists followed by Vaughan Williams's "Sea Symphony"; one of the first symphonies in which a choir is used throughout as an integral part of the musical texture.
