Trade unions in Turkey call a one-day strike in response to the mining disaster that has claimed the lives of hundreds of men in Soma, following a day of spontaneous protests across the country. At least two people are killed and many more injured after explosions and an overnight shooting attack on anti-government demonstrators in Thailand's capital Bangkok.
