Zeinab Badawi speaks to the late Kenneth Kaunda, Zambia's first president. What did 50 years of freedom bring the people of Zambia?

Kenneth Kaunda, Zambia’s founding President has died at the age of 97. In 2014, Zeinab Badawi travelled to the Zambian capital to speak with him and ahead of his ninetieth birthday and on the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence. Kenneth Kaunda was sentenced to hard labour in prison by the British before he went on to become Zambia’s first President of the post-colonial era. HARDtalk asked him what fifty years of freedom had brought the people of Zambia?
