In ‘Telling Tales (Canongate) the poet and performer Patience Agbabi has remixed Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales for the 21st Century. Patience gives us an insight into the research she undertook in order to retell them in a range of contemporary voices, and explains how she was inspired by her favourite films and grime music.

Christopher Green performs in character and is best known for his creations Tina C and Ida Barr. Recently he has been writing more personal song – he’s challenged himself with the ‘52 Fridays project’ to write a song a week. Christopher’s written a song inspired by our visit to the Poetry Library, ‘Non-Petty Pilfering’, in which he bravely admits to liberating library books in his childhood.

Antonio Carluccio’s latest book celebrates ‘Pasta’ (Quadrille), and traces the tangled origins of its vocabulary. With over 600 hundred names for shapes, pasta has a rich linguistic history, and we hear about some of his favourites, as well some of the aphorisms the Italians have about food.
